Faculty Opportunities

The School of Nursing is a dynamic institution committed to the development of scientists, health care providers, and policy leaders. Founded on the unification model of education, practice, and research, the School of Nursing serves as a model for other nursing schools across the country with: innovative doctoral, masters, and accelerated bachelor degree programs; novel and rigorous programs of research; and practice and entrepreneurial initiatives. Faculty and students comprise a diverse group of nursing and interdisciplinary scholars committed to furthering the health of society.

The School of Nursing offers an outstanding environment for research, academics, and career development. Well integrated within the University of Rochester Medical Center and the Center for Translation Science Institute, the School ranks 16th among U.S. nursing schools in research funding from the National Institutes of Health.  Resources for the work and development of scientists within this research-intensive university are outstanding. The School of Nursing’s research support services include research design and statistical consultation, grant development support, data management, and health care project coordination.  The School of Nursing’s newly opened Bio-behavioral Laboratory offers biomarker study design support and laboratory analysis and a fully equipped observation suite for individual and small group observation, and the conduct of focus groups. A generous intramural funding program and dissemination support complement the broad array of research development and implementation support services offered in the School of Nursing. A state of the art School of Nursing Education Wing supports the latest technology for education and research dissemination.

The University of Rochester School of Nursing is now accepting applications for senior and junior faculty in the academic/tenure track. Candidates must hold an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field and a record of extramural funding and scholarship.
