Browser Incompatibility Many quirks of Blackboard are due to browser incompatibility
Adobe Connect is software which allows a "real time" meeting or class. If your instructor is using Adobe Connect, they will send you a meeting invitation. Below is a guide which will help you test your computer to ensure that it is able to use Adobe Connect, and will also help you connect to the meeting.

The School of Nursing requires all matriculated student communication to be through the email assigned to the student (firstname.lastname@example.org address). You should be checking for important messages as you are responsible for the information in those communications. You may check that email by clicking the "My Email" tab in Blackboard or by visiting mail.urmc.rochester.edu.

The University of Rochester School of Nursing Online Learning Center provides resources to assist students with online learning such as Blackboard Basics, Blackboard Help, and technical requirements.
The course syllabus will provide a list of required and recommended textbooks and other learning products. While previously used or older edition textbooks may be available through private sales, it is important to purchase only those textbooks that will allow you to meet the online learning activities through this course. For example, if the CD that accompanies a textbook is used for learning activities or an assignment, only new textbook sales will allow this since the user must register the product. The University of Rochester Medical Center Bookstore allows online ordering and shipment.
