Bio

Lauren is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education at the University of Rochester's Warner School of Education. Lauren is a two time graduate of the University of Rochester School of Nursing, earning both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2011) and her Master of Science in Nursing Education (2019) here at the school. She is a full time faculty at the school, teaching classes in both the ABPNN and Master's in Nursing Education (MNE) programs.

Current Focus

My main academic interests include teaching nurses the foundational skills of Nursing Health Assessment and helping to develop or revise curriculum as identified by the school's leadership team.

I am also responsible for the development and implementation of a standardized process to facilitate the experiential learning placements between preceptor and student in the Master's in Nursing Education program. This involves managing 100 students with a 400-hour requirement per student over the course of their program. This process not only allows the placements to be more meaningful for the student learning, but also gives me the opportunity to get to know, early on, what the student's goals are so we can tailor their student teaching experiences to their interests. Informally, I also serve as an advisor for many students over the years.
