Info for Bachelor's & Master's Degree Candidates

Commencement information for 2021 School of Nursing bachelor's and master's degree candidates.

Documentation Requirements

During the SON Commencement ceremony, degrees will be awarded to bachelor’s and master’s candidates only. In order to participate in the Commencement ceremony, you must have completed the online registration by Friday, April 30.

To participate, documentation is required by ALL participants (not just remote students but also “on-campus” students as well any faculty, staff and vendors) of one of the following:

  • Proof of being fully vaccinated by May 6 either having completed the initial one-shot vaccine or the second dose of a two-shot vaccine.

  • Proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the ceremony. Testing will be provided to those students who are not fully vaccinated and more information on that service will be provided (TBD, Wednesday, May 19).

All students must upload documentation to University Health Service (UHS) via UHS Connect: and will need a UHS Connect ID#.  Students who have not set up an account to access UHS Connect can email to request a registration letter. Please note UHS only recently began using student ID #s and anyone who used UHS before last year but not this year will need to email UHS to find out what their UHSConnect ID# is.

View instructions on how to upload a document to UHS Connect.

Please note that remote students returning to participate in commencement ceremonies must make off campus housing arrangements and must adhere to CDC, state and regional travel guidelines.

Once registered, all students will receive a wristband and will be required to wear the wristband at the ceremony.

All participants are required to wear University of Rochester regalia (hood, cap and gown) at the ceremonies and can be ordered here: The deadline for purchase and ordering of regalia is also Friday, April 30.
