APNN Fuld Scholars 2017

Brian Bayer

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. I’m a 2011 graduate of St. Bonaventure University where I received my B.A. and Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications. I worked for a multi-level, global advertising agency (G2) in New York City, and then returned to Rochester to be closer to family and friends. After working for two years in real estate tax research for Citi Bank, – and knowing I wanted a career where I have an opportunity to make a day-to-day impact on people – I made the career shift into nursing by working as a PCT at Unity Hospital prior to applying to the ABPNN. I am absolutely thrilled and honored to join this program and explore the many different opportunities nursing has to offer.

Michelle Harrington

I grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut, but Rochester has become my home! I graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I am a huge animal lover and enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, and camping. I am very excited to meet all the inspiring students who share my passions!

Stacy Jackson

I grew up in Westmoreland, NY (cow country)! I earned my bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in psychology at Nazareth College of Rochester. My ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner, but I am not positive what kind yet. I enjoy playing soccer and spending time with my chocolate lab, Tucker. I’m very excited to meet everyone and to see what I encounter in this new chapter of my life!

Nyckiyah Mulkey

I am 25 and I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. I attended the State University of New York at Old Westbury in Long Island, NY where I received my Bachelors of Science in Health and Society. During my time in undergrad I also attended Columbia University for a summer scholars program for public health professionals. My goal is to become an RN and then get my masters in pediatric nursing. Outside of school I love to spend time with my family and listen to music. I am so excited for this opportunity and to meet all of you!

Kathyrine Resurreccion

A new chapter of my life began last 2015 when I moved here from the Philippines. I got married to my college classmate and we were blessed to have a beautiful son. The challenging experience that we had during his birth became my inspiration to rekindle my passion to serve people, especially taking care of the children. My dream is to be a pediatric nurse practitioner someday. I am very excited to be with University of Rochester as I fulfill this dream.

Mariana Vasquez-Crede:

I grew up in North Branford, CT, but I have lived in six states and two countries since I turned 16. I have a Bachelor’s in Biology from Whitman College of Walla Walla, Washington. For now, I want to work in the ER, but I am also interested in nursing at rehabilitation facilities. Before starting the program,  I was an EMT in CT. My big dream is to move to the Rockies where I can play all winter, and have a dog who goes hiking with me.
