HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Training

The federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), includes important laws and regulations governing health insurance coverage protection and health information security for Americans and their families. Of particular note for students are the sections of HIPAA that guarantee security and privacy of patient identifiable information.

All students are required to complete HIPAA training by:

  • Watching a video
  • Reviewing a handbook

The Clinical Education Research Center (CERC) in Helen Wood Hall has the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) video and handbook for students to sign out.

When you have finished the training, complete the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Signature Form and return it to the Office of Student Affairs, Helen Wood Hall (1W26).
