Susan M. Ciurzynski

Susan Ciurzynski brings nearly 30 years' experience as a pediatric nurse and nurse educator to her role as director of the School of Nursing's Center for Lifelong Learning, which offers continuing education, professional development, and nursing school prerequisite courses.

As the director of the center, Ciurzynski mentors a variety of students, from adult learners to distance students and health care professionals seeking to enhance their skills or switch their careers. She is a leader in designing and presenting educational offerings using interactive and innovative teaching methods. Recently, she was instrumental in the successful launch of an online Care Manager Education course that is the first of its kind to be offered by a university.

Respected by students as an outstanding role model, Ciurzynski received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence from the School of Nursing in 2015. Ciurzynski currently serves as a nationally certified nurse planner for the University of Rochester Center for Nursing Professional Development, which is accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and as a mentor champion for the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses.
