Part-Time Student Opportunities
Students can obtain information about work-study through the Center for Work and Career Development, which is located in Meloria or by calling (585)-275-2366. Students with a current license to practice nursing in New York State may be employed at Strong Memorial Hospital, or other Rochester area health care agencies, for as many hours as their schedules and academic grades allow. It is recommended that students seek the counsel of their advisors regarding employment, workload, and course requirements to achieve a successful academic outcome. Graduate students with a current license to practice nursing in another state, but without one in New York State, may be employed under a limited permit (see licensure).
Students seeking employment as staff nurses at Strong Memorial Hospital should speak with a counselor in the Nursing Recruitment Office (located at the Medical Center in room 1-3201, phone: 585-275-9516), file an application, and submit a curriculum vitae (resume).
