Warren Bagatelle
Mr. Bagatelle is Investor & Managing Director for Loeb Partners Corp., a New York City based, full-service investment bank. He identifies, finances, and monitors investments in small and medium size companies; provides advisory services on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings; and advises, manages, and co-manages public offerings.

Nancy N. Boyer (N ’64)
A graduate of the University of Rochester, Nurse Practitioner program, Mrs. Boyer was Vice President of Patient Care at Park Ridge Hospital, Rochester, NY; Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Blue Choice, a Rochester, NY BlueCross/BlueShield Health Maintenance Organization, and co-founder and CEO of Healthchex, Inc., prior to its acquisition by Equifax.

Andrew Deubler
Andrew Deubler is Deputy Vice President, University Advancement. Prior to joining the University in 1998, Mr. Deubler was an active development executive at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Skidmore College, and Public Broadcasting. As an experienced advocate for academic research, he is working to expand the Center’s relationships with industry.

Harold H. Gardner (MD ’65), and Marilyn S. Fiske, RN, MSN (BS ’67)
After graduating from the University of Rochester, husband-and-wife team Harold "Hank" Gardner and Marilyn Fiske recognize the potential to push the boundaries of a traditional nursing career, while building on the knowledge and experience of the field. In the mid 1980’s, they founded Human Capital Management Services, Inc., a research, education, and consulting company that serves employers, governments, and health organizations through preventive care and health insurance management.

Gloria J. Horsley (BS ’79, MAS ’81)
Gloria Horsley has worked in the field of family therapy for over twenty years. She served on the faculty of the School of Nursing and coordinated the URMC AIDS Health Project. With many articles, several books, seminars, presentations, and media appearances to her credit, she believes that the diversity and depth of her nursing experience was instrumental to her career.

Stanley Gordon, Esq.
Mr. Gordon is a lawyer with entrepreneurial expertise and experience, practicing in Rochester, NY. He has been involved with several health care business ventures, and brings experience with governmental, institutional, and legal affairs to the board of directors and the Center for Nursing Entrepreneurship.

Phyllis Newfield (BS ’70)
Phyllis Newfield is a pioneer in nursing entrepreneurship. After successfully practicing as a public health nurse, the financial demands of single parenthood spurred a career shift into pharmaceutical sales. Her success led to capital equipment sales, including MRI machines. Today, she owns and operates eight innovative open MRI facilities in the Washington, DC area.

Robert M. Sutherland (PhD ’66) and Karen J. Sutherland (BS ’61)
Karen Webb Sutherland and her husband Bob recognized the need for seed capital to allow the Center for Nursing Entrepreneurship to foster new ideas and business ventures for nurses. They became early supporters, with the creation of the Sutherland Fund. Karen has been a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council since 2000. Bob was a founding member of the J.P. Wilmot Cancer Center faculty and serves on the Executive Board of the Medical Center Alumni Council.

Pamela York Klainer (PhD ’80)
Dr. Klainer is a business and entrepreneurial consultant, founder of Klainer Consulting Group, and author of How Much Is Enough? (Basic Books, 2002) In working with successful, effective people, she recognized the great potential of nurses, whom she sees as very talented but often underutilized. She invests her time and talent to help drive a paradigm shift in nursing.
